Studiostone Creative began amidst the humming of air hammers and flying stone chips. Some years ago, a chance encounter with a teacher led to a school carving program where elementary kids could try hands-on stone carving. The idea was born that carving stone could be accessible to anyone. With the right tools, techniques and starting place, even a young child could complete their very own stone sculpture. Not all stone is hard, some like soapstone and alabaster are actually easy to shape.
From this amazing concept developed a full in-school workshop program and cool stone carving kits that can be done at home. The company continues to grow, bringing out new products each season and working with many retailers and schools across North America.
The best part of it all is seeing the smiles on kids’ faces as they turned plain stones into amazing sculptures. To see their eyes light up with self confidence as they show off their finished carvings. That’s what Studiostone Creative is all about, making art easy and fun for everyone.
